Music March 18th, 2006 by Dave McGovern (Permalink) Add Comments

Last summer in Chicago there was a revival in music fests. The city has been wary of large outdoor concerts, especially in Grant Park due to the riots during the Democratic National Convention of 1968, but the highly successful rebirth of Lollapalooza and the inaugural Pitchfork Media’s Intonation festival seem to have secured a spot in the city for great music festivals.

On Thursday a partial lineup for Lollapalooza was announced. Scheduled to perform are: Kanye West, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Ween, Common, Sonic Youth, Secret Machines, The Smoking Popes, and The Frames. For a full line up check the Lollapalooza site. The festival is August 4-6 and will once again be held in Chicago’s Grant Park.
