Yo tengo cover songs! On March 8th the New Jersey non-commercial radio station WFMU had an on air fund raiser which featured Yo La Tengo . If listeners donated one hundred dollars the band would play whatever song requested. The result is a varied and very fun performance by Yo La Tengo. The good folks at You Ain’t No Picasso are in the process of posting the 8 set 40 plus song event. Songs included are Captain Beefheart’s “Zig Zag Wanderer”, Bob Dylan’s “Girl of the North Country”, Violent Femmes’ “Blister in the Sun”, Beach Boys’ “California Girls”, and Hall & Oates “Kiss on my List”.
